What information do we collect?

We collect information from you when you register on our site, place an order, subscribe to our newsletter, respond to a survey or fill out a form.

When ordering or registering on our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your name, e-mail address, mailing address, phone number or credit card information. You may, however, visit our site anonymously.

What do we use your information for?

How do we protect your information?

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you place an order or enter, submit or access your personal information.
We offer the use of a secure server. All supplied sensitive/credit information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our Payment gateway providers database only to be accessible by those authorized with special access rights to such systems and are required to keep the information confidential.
Private information such as credit cards, social security numbers, financials, etc. are never stored on our servers.


Do we use cookies?

Yes (Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer’s hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the sites or service providers systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information.

We use cookies to understand and save your preferences for future visits and compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction so that we can offer better site experiences and tools in the future. Can I access my information?

To ensure accurate and up-to-date information, you are able to change your contact and personal information by logging into your Emergenetics+ account. For other personal information we hold, we will provide you with access for any purpose including to request that we correct the data if it is inaccurate or delete the data if Emergenetics is not required to retain it by law or for legitimate business purposes. We may decline to process requests that are frivolous/vexatious, jeopardize the privacy of others, are extremely impractical or for which access is not otherwise required by local law. Do we disclose any information to outside parties?

We do not sell, trade or otherwise transfer your personally identifiable information to outside parties.
We do transfer Personal Data to certain third-party agents or service providers with whom we have entered written agreements and which agreements address data privacy and security policies and procedures that require all contractual parties to ensure that your personal data is protected with the same level of protection of the EU Privacy Shield requirements. In cases of onward transfer to third parties of EU Personal Data received pursuant to the EU-US Privacy Shield, Emergenetics is potentially liable.

It may be necessary − by law, legal process, litigation and/or requests from public and governmental authorities within or outside your country of residence − for Apple to disclose your personal information. We may also disclose information about you if we determine that for purposes of national security, law enforcement or other issues of public importance, disclosure is necessary or appropriate. We may also disclose information about you if we determine that disclosure is reasonably necessary to enforce our terms and conditions or protect our operations or users.
However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising or other uses.


EU-US Privacy Shield

Emergenetics International and STEP LLC participate in the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework regarding the collection, use and retention of personal information from European Union member countries. We have certified with the Department of Commerce that we adhere to the Privacy Shield Principles. For purposes of enforcing compliance with the Privacy Shield, Emergenetics is subject to the investigatory and enforcement authority of the US Federal Trade Commission. Emergenetics will cooperate and comply with the dispute resolution panel established by the relevant EU data protection authorities in addition to the VeraSafe Dispute Resolution Procedure.
