Marie Unger joined as Vice President of Education for Emergenetics International: STEP (Student/Teacher Emergenetics Profile) Division in 2013. Prior to this, Marie was a teacher, school principal, Human Resource Director and Director of Elementary Education for the Douglas County School District, the 3rd largest school district in the state of Colorado.
Marie graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in Communications and an emphasis in Elementary Education. She obtained her Masters degree from the University of Phoenix in Educational Administration. During her tenure as school principal, Marie’s schools received numerous honors and distinction from the State of Colorado for Outstanding Achievement and Academic growth. 5280 Magazine declared her school one of the Top Elementary schools in the state of Colorado.
In her leadership position within the education system, Marie successfully implemented the STEP program at her school with her faculty and students. She then facilitated the STEP program on a bigger scale for District leaders as a part of culture and team building, as well as for students as part of a Student Advocacy initiative.
In her spare time, Marie enjoys spending time with her husband, Rich, and their two children, Brooke and Abby. Marie’s other hobbies include sports and exercise, as well as enjoying the beauty of her home state in Colorado.
