As Chief Executive Officer of Emergenetics® International and its sister company, STEP (Student/Teacher Emergenetics Program) LLC, Marie Unger is energized by expanding awareness of the power of the organizations’ offerings. Since 2015, Marie has been an Emergenetics Master Associate and has conducted countless workshops and certifications for business leaders, educators and students around the world. She is adept at applying the seven Attributes of Emergenetics to any situation at work and in life.
Previously, Marie was a teacher, school principal, human resource director and director of elementary education for Douglas County School District (DCSD), the third largest school district in Colorado. She received numerous honors from the State of Colorado, and 5280 Magazine spotlighted her school as one of the Top Elementary programs in the state. While at DCSD, Marie successfully implemented Emergenetics and STEP with educators and district leaders to support teacher development and student achievement.
Marie graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in communications and an emphasis in elementary education. She obtained her master’s degree from the University of Phoenix in education administration.
Marie is a classically trained pianist who enjoys spending time with her family including her husband Rich as well as her daughters Brooke and Abby. She is an avid sports fan, plays tennis and loves to get out into the great Colorado outdoors.
