Director, Information Technology

The Director, Information Technology (IT) will guide a broad range of initiatives to oversee all IT functions for Emergenetics and STEP. This role is based in Denver, Colorado and works collaboratively across companies, departments and our global offices. The Director of IT will manage the company’s technology operations, the implementation of new IT systems and policies as well as set long-term goals that support innovation and improved client experience. Primary responsibilities include system performance metrics, establish and implement IT policies as well as analyzing business requirements for IT initiatives.


  • Oversee all technology operations (e.g. network security) and evaluate them according to established goals
  • Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of company goals and strategies
  • Analyze the business requirements of all departments to determine technology needs
  • Purchase efficient and cost-effective technological equipment and software
  • Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency
  • Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems
  • Serve as Data Protection Officer
  • Maintain compliance with internal and external security frameworks (e.g. GDPR, ISO 27001, Privacy Shield)
  • Oversee all development efforts in-house and third-party provided including budgeting, timelines and advocacy for Emergenetics and STEP needs to developers.
  • Establish and manage department budget and report on expenditures
  • Follow industry trends to uncover opportunities for innovation
  • Build relationships with vendors, develop requests for proposals and create cost-efficient contracts
  • Coordinate internal staff trainings
  • All other duties as assigned


  • BS/BA in computer science, information systems, engineering or relevant field; MSc/MA will be a plus
  • Demonstrable experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems
  • Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks, etc.
  • Expertise in internal and external security and data privacy best practices and current regulatory requirements
  • Proven experience with large, complex projects
  • Demonstrable success in managing outsourced solutions
  • Experience in controlling information technology budget
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent organizational, leadership and communication skills
  • Strong and positive work ethic

Executive Assistant

The Executive Assistant will organize and coordinate administrative duties and office procedures as well as support our CEO and President. They will be responsible for scheduling meetings and appointments, handling the purchasing of office supplies and providing general administrative support to our senior executives including making travel arrangements and organizing events, as needed.


  • Coordinate daily calendars of CEO and President
  • Act as the point of contact between executives and employees/clients
  • Make travel arrangements
  • Serve as the point person for maintenance, mailing, supplies, equipment and bills
  • Manage office administration, such as ordering meals for meetings, planning event logistics and running errands
  • Schedule meetings and appointments
  • Facilitate internal communications (e.g. distribute information and schedule presentations)
  • Serve as primary receptionist for the office
  • Capture and produce meeting notes and action items
  • Order stationery and equipment as needed
  • Partner with HR to update and maintain office policies as necessary
  • Provide general support to visitors
  • Address employees’ queries regarding office management, including stationery, travel arrangements, etc.
  • Liaise with facility management vendors, including cleaning, catering and security services
  • All other duties as assigned


  • Minimum three years of experience in office management or supporting executive teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience exercising discretion and confidentiality with sensitive company information
  • Match rapport with clients
